Woodyman Camera

THE FOUNDERS

Alix Bérard and Jonathan Duarte are the founders of Woodyman,
structure that creates large format cameras. Both are passionate about images and have been practicing photography for many years.
A computer engineer, Jonathan is also an actor and videographer.
He contributes to the communication and development of the Woodyman project.
Alix is a graphic designer and polarist, he is the creator and designer of Woodyman.

What are you waiting for to write your story with big light?

In 2016, during the Polafestival in Paris, Alix and Jonathan established an observation.
Large format 8×10 chambers are unique tools,
of an incomparable quality and which allow impressive possibilities.
But the financial investment to start in this photographic format remains very important.
From there was born the idea of democratizing the large format.

Woodyman's team then worked with the leitmotif of designing
a quality 8×10 room, light, functional and, above all, at the most attractive price possible.
A material immediately imposed itself: wood, for its aesthetic aspect,
its lightness and formability. The name of Woodyman embodies this project.
Over the course of research, tests and prototypes, metal parts have appeared
to stiffen the structure, but the name stuck.
